“I started shooting at six years old when I would go to the range with my Dad. When I was twelve years old I shot my first IDPA match, at sixteen I won my first IDPA national title, and at eighteen I enlisted in the U.S. Army to join the AMU,” began Horner. “For basically my entire life I have been shooting competitively, and for as long as I can remember it’s been a lifelong goal of mine to shoot professionally. To have this opportunity to represent industry leader SIG SAUER and join Team SIG is really a dream come true and I can’t wait to start working with the company and competing.”

Horner is a 3-gun shooter and will compete primarily in multi-gun matches, and long-range rifle competition as a member of Team SIG. In competition Horner will use a P320 X-Five full-size pistol with iron sights, an M400 SDI Comp rifle with a TANGO6 1-6x24mm second focal plane riflescope, and a KILO2400ABS. Horner will also use a variety of SIG SAUER Ammunition during competition including: 9mm Match Elite Competition, 223 REM Elite Match Grade, and 223 REM Varmint and Predator.

“We are thrilled to bring Daniel to Team SIG to join forces with Max and Lena as they compete for SIG SAUER. His record as a 3-gun shooter is truly remarkable and is a direct result of his hard work and dedication to the sport,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales. “Daniel is also a man of exceptional character and will be an outstanding ambassador for the SIG SAUER brand and role model for the next generation of professional shooters.”

Horner’s first competition on behalf of Team SIG will be the SIG SAUER Fort Benning Multi-Gun Challenge at Krilling Ranges Thursday, November 15th – Sunday, November 18th in Fort Benning, Georgia.

“I am excited about Daniel joining Lena and I on Team SIG and we welcome him to the team,” added Team SIG Captain Max Michel. “I worked with Daniel for several years at the AMU and I got to see first-hand exactly what makes him a championship shooter. He works hard, he’s focused, and he does whatever it takes to accomplish his goals. Daniel is going to bring a lot of wins to Team SIG and he will be a great teammate as we represent the SIG brand together. I look forward to watching his future on the professional shooting circuit unfold.”

Another day, another coup by SIG. They’re turning into the Apple of the gun industry:
    1. Early high quality and price
    2. Dark years, with dropping quality and prestige
    3. Steady increase in sales until they are near ubiquitous in every corner of the industry.

Well maybe if the other US arms makers would design and make something new and innovative, instead of making more 1911 they would have competition.

I think they’re gaining ground because they have been focusing so heavily on being a “full service” provider.

SIG is a one-stop shop for everything now, kind of like how some other dominating brands in the industry are, or are trying to become a full service provider for gear and uniforms such as Crye or TYR with their Huron line.

Whenever Horner shows up to a long range match, I’m just wondering who’s gonna be in second

I thought Sig disbanded the team. Guess they kept Max and cleaned house with the rest of the folks in order to start fresh
