Rail-Rap by Burn Proof Gear

The Burn Proof Gear Rail-Rap uses the same material as their Suppressor covers but is configured so that it will protect your hands from a hot handguard. This includes a fiberglass liner and an aramid layer.

Rail-Rap is available in a variety of colors from www.burnproofgear.com/product/rail-rap.

They work. I put one on my Gemtech Integra handguard, and now I can touch it after firing 10 rounds.

Sure cant wait to pay 75 USD for a piece of cloth and they wonder why China is dominating in trade, well when you are crazed with greed ….

Feel free to throw that old wash cloth on your rifle and expect the same effect there sport.

    • Joshua says:

That piece of cloth is rated for 1000 deg F…. Their fiberglass material is rated for 2000 deg F.
Definitely not a cheap piece of cloth.

      Sentinel,

Have you ever sourced these materials before and seen the cost? How about actually cutting and sewing aramid and fiberglass textiles? It’s a pain in the ass and expensive, which is why I pretty much stopped doing it. You can’t use standard anything. Everything including the thread and cordage have to be able to hold up to extended periods of high heat. Standard textiles either melt or have a hole burned straight through them. Then you have to add the cost of running a company in the US and making enough profit to grow that company and feed your family at the same time. You also have to set pricing so your stocking dealers can actually make a profit. So unless you’ve tried it yourself you should hold off on that “crazed with greed” comment till you actually know what goes into producing a product like this.

Or like just shoot with gloves or something. Firearms industry truly has become a multicam fashion competition.
