I sat down with firearms trainer Rob Pincus At IWA to discuss the new Multi Caliber Pistol From FL BRNO which Fire 9mm, 10mm and 7.5 FK. Pincus initially began working with them in 2016 when he was contacted by the company regarding the potential of the 7.5 FK ammunition. In 2017 he was invited to fire the round and pistol in the Czech Republic for the first time.
Up front, Pincus explained, “Let’s clear something up. It’s not a $2000 9mm. It’s a 7.5 gun that shoots 9mm…for training for recreation and competition.”
It’s a single action pistol. You might find that the recoil system is similar to that found on the Hudson, but FK BRNO has it first and it’s patented.
Additional cartridges have been developed in 7.5 FK like the conical projectile seen here.
Using specific magazines made from steel, the pistol will hold 17+1 9mm rounds or 16+1 10 and 7.5 FK.
The Diamond and Ghost Ring sight system is rather interesting, although the slide is plumbed for a red dot sight.
FL BRNO has developed a railed frame. Right now they are determining whether it will be an option, or become the standard frame.
The stock attaches quickly. A Stabilizing Brace is under development for the US market.
Holsters are already available, like this model from Falco.
Here’s a video showing how to convert the pistol from 7.5 FK to 9mm.
Pincus also cleared up concerns over the over the importer, stating that they have partnered with a completely new importer for the US.
Look for the Multi Caliber Pistol from FK BRNO in about two months.
1. It’s ugly 2. Those giant Allen screws on the back of the slide?? 3. Those ghost ring sights 4. The $2,000 price tag 5. That holster.. No thank you. I’d rather buy a bunch of Hi-Point’s.
Ugly. You seriously buy firearms by looks? Women, dogs and cars yes. Firearms? Turn in your man card.
When the gun costs $7,500….yeah I can see wanting it to look decent.
Yes. How it looks is a part of it. It also translates to how it shoots and feels as far as ergonomics and functionality. Those giant screws on the side could have been better thought out in design. Ghost ring sights on a pistol are retarded. Difficult to reacquire on follow up shots especially on a pistol caliber with more recoil than a 9mm. These are my evaluation based on how it looks in addition to it being fugly. And my man card need not be questioned.
This is awesome, and really the direction I was hoping we would see pistols go, especially now in the Red Dot era where potential pistol range has greatly been extended.
Then again, I’ve always been a fan of 5.7, 7.62×25, and .357 sig, so perhaps I’m not reflective of the average consumer.
For the US market, I’d be curious whether projectiles for the .30 carbine can be utilized; a 110gr bonded soft point at 1900fps would be very interesting.
I’ll put one in my gun safe, right next to my PD-10.
What is going on with those huge allen screws at the rear of the slide?
Optics plumbing.
Does this one cycle if you barely touch the slide with your support hand finger? Because the $7,500 version does not.
No 7,62 × 25 mm or 9 × 22 mm (.357 SIG)?? 9mm Dillon? It says multi-caliber and for that price I want really multiple multi.
Well, $2,000 for plastic gun? Frame look like from 3D printer, terrible sights, and those ugly screws?
I had a chance to shoot a Field Pistol, and only positive thing is a very nicely machined main parts of pistol. But when I saw all other parts, I´ve recognized cheap Tanfoglio parts! For $7,500!!
So, what we can expect on this ,,pistol of future,,?
No, the frame doesn’t look like it came out of a printer. I understand your hesitation over the price, but it’s the only thing that shoots 7.5 FK.
