I question how good of a fit can be had with so few lace points. It should be double that.
Zach, I’ve been issued several different Salomon’s over the years and have open purchased my own. I wear a 9 regular in most models but wear a 10R in the Quest 4D, for heavy socks in cold weather. I can assure you, from MHO they are the most comfortable boots/sneakers the last 12 years.
I like Salomon and have multiple pairs. These have a bunch of negative reviews on how it is delaminating prematurely..
I found those same negative reviews, that’s what kept me from buying a pair recently. They look pretty awesome, but early delaminating made them a no-go for me for now.
Just as and FYI, We have been a dealer of Salomon for over 10 years. Most of those comments you see are from people who have had them for years and used them for hundreds of miles and then some. They think they are like a boot you get resoled. They are not, they are hiking shoes. And Salomon has an amazing return policy. They stand behind their quality and customer service. I’ve only seen a hand full of returns not go through. This is usually because the customer is not being honest on how old they are or what they were used for. I have personally owned every brand under the sun and used them in a lot of hard use scenarios. Salomon is one of my go to’s.
I was wondering if that would be an issue when the sole doesn’t come up the sides. It can work for running shoes but I’m not sure about boots that are going to be under heavy loads and rough terrain.
Someday maybe Wide?
I hope so. I have such wide feet they are essentially triangles. Really difficult to find salomons that fit
Yeah, was about to say the same. I don’t have particular wide feet, but Saloman hiking boots have always been too narrow for me.

I picked up some for work. So far so good. I spoke with a sales person who said there was an early bad run that had some problems regarding the separation issue from the reviews and that it has been corrected. I can’t validate that.
The lack of lacing eyes doesn’t seem to be an issue. They feel very secure.
I’ll report back any issues.
I wish they would make these with a polishable toe.
Notice the fabric on the toe box? Where your shoe naturally bends is where the holes will inevitably occur. How do I know? I am a former owner of Salomons. Two holes on either side of the toe box for both shoes occurred. Simply by walking a around 5 days week. And this happened in 3 1/2 months. I loved them for 3 1/2 months. Comfortable and not cumbersome, but did not last long.
