So we have a chinese android device with ???? software patching running obsolete radios to connect to TAK over wifi and cellular? Who exactly is this even marketed towards? People who depend on cell/external infrastructure but need TAK to do ??????. SAR and Emergency response personnel are obviously going to be hampered by lack of coverage.
All TAK systems are running on one Chinese device or another.
These systems work just fine with an MPU5 network.
There is an immense difference between a Samsung device with supported patching and an aliexpress “waterproof android phone”.
Well this is pretty much the same thing you can do yourself by buying an aliexpress phone and loading atak on it…
You can run tak off of a LAN network. They’ve got that covered as well. It’s a simple inexpensive way to get a little more capability without the headache .
It’s for whoever wants to use it. TAK is freeware.
