Job Summary:

MATBOCK, LLC, a Virginia Beach, VA-based company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety and Test Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of planning, technical writing and execution for automotive testing, incorporating MIL-STD requirements. MATBOCK focuses on paradigm-shifting technology that enhances the capabilities of the United States Department of Defense. This role will support DoD vehicle electrification efforts, including hybrid electric vehicles, range extenders, and generators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for hybrid electric vehicles and components, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD requirements.

• Conduct bench testing, system-level testing, and performance evaluation of automotive components.

• Analyze test data, interpret results, and provide detailed technical reports and recommendations.

• Collaborate with design engineers to identify, formulate, and implement effective solutions to emerging safety and performance issues.

• Ensure product safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

• Prepare and review detailed test procedures, technical documentation, and reports.

• Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on safety and testability aspects.

• Assist in estimating budgets and project scope related to testing and safety evaluations.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing processes with overall project timelines.

• Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in automotive testing and safety.

Requirements and Skills:

• 5+ years of proven working experience in safety and testing engineering, preferably in the automotive or defenseindustry.

• Strong understanding and experience with MIL-STD requirements.

• Proficiency in bench testing and system-level testing of automotive components.

• Solid technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare detailed test plans, procedures, and reports.

• Familiarity with hybrid electric vehicle systems and components is a plus.

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex test data.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• BSc degree in Engineering or a related field.

• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

• Honest, fun, hard-working, and ready to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment:

• Office and laboratory settings.

• Requires occasional travel to project sites or manufacturing facilities.

• Use of standard office equipment and testing tools.
