The National Rifle Association is adding new features for its members to help broaden their reach and make the experience of supporting Second Amendment rights more relevant to more people. You’ve already seen Life of Duty which is intended for uniformed public service professionals. Now, they’ve added a new webzine. America’s First Freedom is the official journal of the NRA that is specifically focused on our Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms.
Check it out here. Additionally, they’ve also created a NRA America’s First Freedom facebook page, so ‘Like’ them.

Meh. Did Obama cull weapons? No. Did Obama ban Assault Rifles? No. Did Obama make it more restrictive to purchase a firearm? No. So why this stupidity? In my firm opinion, it seems to me that Obama’s tenure has been one of Inclusiveness, while the troop of politician’s parading about right now for the role of presidential contender are following a path of exclusiveness. I am not sure what has happened to the republican party in the last two decades, but it has strayed from the path of financial conservatism and minimal regulation to one that is driven by a pretext to dissolve the 1st amendment.
Right on.
I’ve been a big fan of SSD for years, but I would like to respectfully request that the editors not use this site to make political statements. This is not the place for partisan commentary in either direction. Keep it to gear talk and I think we’ll all be happier.
I agree, I bite my tongue all of the time over political issues. I just urge all of you to participate in the process and not comtemplate other means to perpetuate political change.
But I don’t consider our Second Amendment right a political issue. This just isn’t something you are going to see me compromise in defense of. I will support the National Rifle Association so long as they support our Second Amendment right. I urge you to find a tactical or firearms website that doesn’t support the Second Amendment and an individual’s right to bear arms.
I may disagree with that position, but I respect your right to it and I won’t argue that point further. However, this post contained a statement specifically telling readers which way to vote in the upcoming election. It’s one thing to link to an organization that has certain political leanings when the content is relevant to the site, but it is another entirely to post content with a clear political agenda outside of the scope of this site. “This card will beat Obama” is a partisan political endorsement, not a pro-second amendment statement.
Shouldn’t it be America’s 2nd Freedom?
Oh my god you guys bring me to tears i thought i was the only reasonable human being left that also own a firearm.
I am a former Special Operations soldier, a combat vet, and avid hunter, an NRA member… and I will vote for President Obama. Don’t think you can put people in a box just by there interests or pursuits.
