SIG SAUER - Never Settle

FT Knox Seeks WWII Uniforms

This is something you don’t see every day. Ft Knox has put out a solicitation for WWII USGI militaria for use on mannequins. That alone in unusual. Even more so, is that they are using an online reverse auction to buy the stuff. Considering the cost of authentic gear, not to mention reproductions and the large sizes of some of the items, the chance that the Army will get ripped off on this deal is very big. There’s no such thing as a bargain on WWII collector’s items.

Most of these things aren’t that hard to find or even that pricey if they know where to look. I have quite the collection of WWII collectibles such as these. Have almost everything they’re looking for and the most I paid was probably $150 for the M-41. Now of they want it new and unissued that’s a different story.

The irony is that probably most of this is sitting in DLA Depots
