SIG SAUER - Never Settle

AUSA – Ops-Core

I ran by the Gentex booth and picked up their new catalog interested in seeing if they had integrated any of Ops-Core’s products into their offerings. As most of you will remember, Gentex purchased Ops-Core early this year. Sure enough, a small sampling of Ops-Core products was in the back of the catalog. But, they were some interesting surprises.

From the photos and the description in the catalog, you attach the VAS shroud and ARC rails to Mission Configurable Helmet Cover and put it on the helmet when you need those capabilities. Otherwise, you ACH remains stock. I must admit, I do wonder how the cover will handle the stress if you start hanging lots on it.

Additionally, it appears that they have refined the visor system they have been working on over the years. The Moto Visor and Mandible work alone or in concert to protect the face of those wearing helmets configured with an ARC rail set up.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t imagine the attachments being too stable attached to the helmet cover vs anchored to the helmet.

Light-hearted sarcasm. He was pointing out how wrong those pictures/descriptions are.

It’s a pretty big mistake on their part, that’s the kind of thing that would make me (as average Joe consumer) question the integrity of their product. I mean, if they can’t get someone to present product to an audience, basically the easiest part, can you get the right people on the engineering/production side? Something to consider, Gentex.

What are you talking about, the add says the shroud and rails are on the helmet cover not the helmet, and the question is if this would remain stable enough for heavy attachments. Its an add for a helmet cover, not a helmet. If you are saying this is not what the product is and Gentex has completely messed the add up, then I get it, but if not, you lost me.

    Mike,

I don’t think you’re correct there. I think it’s 100% intentional and not a mistake. They’re trying to sell the accessories on a cover. Keep in mind that Gentex Makes their own versions of helmet, now they want to add the accessories.
