As the spokesperson proudly extolled the adoption of US-born ideas into the new AK variant, President Putin’s finger quietly slipped inside the trigger guard as he said
“Excuse me Comrade, but all I see on this weapon are fine modifications from Soviet..er, Russian engineers. Isn’t that right?”

SSD was correct in saying that it’s a Russian thing. The finger is inside the trigger guard but note that it is pushing up against the inside of the trigger guard and not resting on the trigger.
Exactly right. Very common practice in that part of the world. Not the safest thing in the world, but not exactly the way it looks either.
Something we talk about in gun class. Men go to a gun show or store, pick up a gun and put their finger on the trigger. Women gentley hold the weapon and don’t. We see it all the time.

Trigger discipline is actually a pretty new thing to the Russians. Look through pictures. Almost all the time they have the safety off and their finger on the trigger. It’s kind of the norm to them.

Larry Vickers was at a training facility with Russian operators. It was crazy man. Dude was being shot in the chest with body armor while returning fire right over the sholder of the guy shooting at him. Head shots all the way. Then they had a drill of a mob pushing and shoving. Same kind of thing live fire close up ane personal. One miss there and its lights out
