Crye’s AirLite technology, first debuted at SHOT Show 2012 is now available for order from Crye Precision. There are four models of plate carriers to choose from depending on which plates you use and what features you want as well as a chest rig that can be worn in conjunction with the AirLite series of carriers as well as Crye’s LV-MBAV and LV-RBAV. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a set of strap accessories for stand alone use yet.

For example, the EK01 accepts SAPI cut plates and weighs in at extremely low weights:
SM = 9.2oz
MD = 9.8oz
LG = 10.4oz
XL = 11.2oz

The EK01 and EK03 accept SAPI and Swimmer Cut plates respectively. The EK02 and EK04 also integrate side plate pouches as well as their respective front and rear plates. Front and rear plates can be placed in included plate covers for camouflage and protection.

Available in any color as long as it’s MultiCam.

    MBAV agreed, + compact ghillie and AVs chest rig !! It’ll be ineresting to see the comfort with the bungee and strap plate retention Vs plate minus pocket simplicity…

    Talked to Crye this morning and was told this kit is NOT a load-bearing rig like their other plate carriers and those from most other manufacturers. They specifically told me this is NOT intended to have gear attached to it; it’s intended for use where plates are required but light weight is more important than any other consideration. (Emphasis from Crye, not me.)

    For example, this PC was not designed to accept their StKSS Load Bearing System specifically because it’s not intended to get any heavier than the plates themselves plus the AirLite. They intend you attach whatever pouches & gear you need to carry to some other overvest, which in some instances is a good idea anyway.

      I followed up with Crye based on your post because it didn’t sound right to me.

      To clarify what you were told.

      STKSS aren’t compatible but the AirLite PC IS intended to carry pockets and pouches, etc..
