In this photo from S.O. Tech we see all three Brookwood patterns from their finalist family of patterns for the US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort. They promise some finished goods in these patterns during SHOT Show.

Looks like a OPFOR uniform to me.

  2. NT says:

Hey, that woodland looks different than the one I thought they were using! The one I’d seen looked like really tiny M81. Is that indeed their woodland? Am I tripping? Either way, cool stuff!

  3. Joe says:

Should’ve sold this to the Aussies!

  4. Ammoman says:

    Grandma couch camo!

    • MED says:

      Nice!
Like someone else said before, looks like my kid’s watercolor finger painting brought home from school.

    • Woody says:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. It reminds me of the scene in the movie Toys, where LL Cool J is wearing camo to blend in with a couch.

  5. Spartan says:

    Doesn’t do anything for me.

  6. steveb says:

Interesting, but my least favorite of the ‘four families’.

  7. Mitchell Fuller says:

Somewhere down the line if a new set of camo patterns is selected, it should be restricted to the military and not available to the general public and or on ebay.

    • JG says:

We will be sure to let the Chinese know not to copy it. I’m sure they will be more than willing to comply.

    • Bushman says:

Finnish military did that. Try to guess, did it helped much?

    • b_a says:

Then what’s with the huge US tactical gear market?
I guess it would have quite some problems if it would not be allowed to sell to civilians too.

      Capitalism, ho!

You mean like when the Navy started using AOR1 and AOR2? They are restricted patterns, pretty tightly controlled, and even though we have it in stock I can’t sell it to guys authorized to wear it. Their commands have to come in with a purchase order for a large group of guys to make it happen.

None of this stops teenagers playing BB wars in the woods from being totally decked out in these patterns and if a kid can get it so can any of the other people we’re trying to keep it from. Type AOR1 or AOR2 into eBay sometime… all pattern restrictions realistically seem to do is keep guys who need it from having stuff to train/deploy in.

    • steveb says:

That would make the cost astronomical, unless it was a government design….and you don’t want that!

  8. Darius137 says:

Wow, this looks a lot better than I had hoped!

  9. David says:

Looks like curtain material. I think I will stick the Auscam or Multicam thanks.

  10. BT says:

Reminds me of those japanese woodblock prints…

  11. Bman says:

Not nearly as bad it looked in the image that was floating around during the whole improvement process. The woodland looks kind like a cross of M81 woodland and the old helmet cover pattern from Vietnam. Good to finally see a real picture of it.

  12. BlackLion says:

    Neckties?

  13. USMColdawg says:

If I was taking a rorschach test, I will see tree leaves and thin branches in that camo pattern. Awful. This lines up with Ghostex on worse looking patterns.
