I spent 20 years in a number of units in the Army.

My great-great-grandfather was the SGM of the 6th US Infantry for the last year of the Civil War.

His great-great-grandfather fought in the US Army in the Revolutionary War.

In between, my ancestors served in the US Navy, and in the Home Guard.

Happy 239th, and thanks, all, for your service!

Shout out to my little brother who is a heavy equipment operator in the Army. While he has not been deployed to a combat zone, he has been sent to do some awesome things such as going to Papua New Guinea to build roads to repatriate the remains of KIAs from WWII and Honor Guard for military funerals.
If any of you were at FOB Andar 11-12 it was this Navy Bubblehead’s honor to have spent nine “interesting” months with you in and out of the wire.

It is a day late but Happy Birthday to my fellow Soldiers. I came in the US Army in 1983; then switched to the US Marine Corps for four years; then a seven-year break in service. I came back in with the Army Guard in 98. 9/11 happened and I returned to Army AD.

I never knew as an old doggie, I will go to war three times in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne and 4th Infantry Division and make it to the Warrant Officer ranks. I am still serving and heading to Korea shortly. I spent four years in Germany, so I love serving overseas. Hopefully, I will get to wear Scorpion before my retirement in five years. 🙂 I am pushing 50 but still hanging in there!!!

Thank you AGL. Funny, I ran into a former Marine buddy of mine and he came back in after a 14-year break in service at 40 years old.
