Strike Industries has been releasing teaser shots of various components of their new rifle, to be released at SHOT Show. No official name has been announced but it’s been referred to as the “hover” rifle due to this photo released last night on Facebook. The stock in the image will be available before Christmas.

That’s a “well-balanced” AR.
I would hazard a guess we’re looking at a CAD. Either way, I’m interested in see what comes of this.
+1 on CAD, there’s no mechanism for those irons… still interested though
Well slap my ass and call me Sally.
Side charging AR anyone?
Yet another AR -variant, still stuck with a buffer tube which precludes a folding stock. Yawn.
Couldn’t agree more.
You do realize that a buffer tube is a standard part of the AR design don’t you? I’m not sure that you can build an AR without the buffer tube without completely redesigning how the AR works. If you are really that into finding stocks then maybe you should get a SCAR, or some AK variant.
I know the buffer tube is standard – that’s the thing, I’d like to see some advancement beyond that which is standard. We are now stuck with so much “standard” in weapons, ammo, magazines, accessories, training, etc, that we may never again see a “clean-sheet” small arms design.
(IIRC, a couple years ago, someone did show a buffered folding stock prototype, which was at least an interesting idea.)
it’s still available http://www.lawtactical.com/ar_folding_stock_adapter_gen_3_p/2014003.htm
Meanwhile on Tatooine…
Well, I for one am excited about a rifle that hovers. That’s 7 to 9 pounds that I don’t have to hump around…
Just attach a little paracord and away I go!
:p
Because I think we can all agree that the one thing we really need now is yet another rifle design chambered in 5.56.
They are making a 7.62×39 upper for less than 500. Be on the look out
