“Eric…. It is with great sadness that I am writing to you to let our brothers-in-arms know that one of our snipers and cherished friend, Mark Neville, has sadly perished in a vehicle accident in British Columbia on September 2nd. While travelling with his wife and 2 young sons, another vehicle crossed the center line and impacted Mark’s truck. He succumbed to his injuries at scene. His wife and two sons survived the incident and are recovering in hospital. Words cannot describe what our team is feeling right now.

Growing up in Canada’s north Mark was the embodiment of an easy going, humble, hard working, salt of the earth farm boy. He put people at ease with his demeanour, would give you the shirt off his back, and truly loved being a Mountie. In short, a man and a father that we all hope our sons will become.

Mark worked and trained extensively over the years with a number of your readers. In support of his family we have established a site to help his sons and wife. It can be found at;

Bill Orr, Founder of GT Distributors and Former President of NAPED, Passes

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017

New Bern, NC (August 2017) – The National Association of Police Equipment Distributors (NAPED) is sad to announce the passing of one of our industry greats, William J. “Bill” Orr, founder of GT Distributors and a founding member of NAPED.
Bill passed away Aug. 21 at his home in Georgetown, Texas.

He will be buried beside his late wife, Charlotte, at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bill’s passion for firearms and Smith & Wesson® specifically, began in his youth. After his service in the Army and marriage to his college sweetheart, Charlotte, Bill managed an appliance store. On the side he bought and sold guns. In 1966, Bill was granted a Colt® distributorship while still running the appliance store. By 1972, Bill, with the help of Roy Jinks (Smith & Wesson historian), had received a Smith & Wesson Law Enforcement distributorship. He and his wife officially founded GT Distributors, so called because their first building sat on the Georgia and Tennessee state line in Rossville, Georgia.

Since those early years, Bill and Charlotte, and eventually their kids, built the business into one of the largest law enforcement distributors in the country. As a man passionate about collecting firearms, he was also passionate about business and was one of the original five members of NAPED in 1986.

“Bill will be sorely missed by everyone at GT and remembered as a man that was truly interested in everyone and every gun he met. He was an astute businessman and loving family man, who generously gave his time and energy to his employees,” Tim Brown, president of GT Distributors and of the NAPED BOD commented.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 25 at 12:30 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visit www.heritagebattlefield.com to share condolences with the family and view the memorial tribute.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (www.michaeljfox.org) or the charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug 24 at the Heritage Funeral Home.

Rest In Peace Levi Adams

Friday, July 21st, 2017

Tragic news from our friends at Telluric Training. Rest In Peace Levi Adams.

For those who don’t know, Levi Adams, part of the Telluric family, was involved in a fatal car accident yesterday. We are all devastated by this tragic loss. Levi was a key member of the team here. More importantly, though, he was an amazing dad, a newly-married husband, a devoted son, a highly respected police officer, and genuine friend. He was a warrior, although very few people realized it because he was so gentle and warm. Despite his young age, he had tremendous character and strength- he was a rock that a lot of people depended on. He will be sorely missed.

Please join us in praying for his family.

Brad’s Story

Wednesday, April 26th, 2017

When you see the name B. E. Meyers and Co, that ‘B’ stands for Brad. Unfortunately, he recently passed away. This is a tribute by B. E. Meyers & Co, to their founder.

As many of you know, my father, Brad Meyers, the founder of B.E. Meyers & Co. Inc. passed away a bit over a month ago after an amazing life. We thank everyone for the tremendously kind thoughts and notes regarding his passing, and we were so happy that at the celebration of his life over 300 folks whose lives were impact by Brad joined us at his memorial. We miss him dearly.

We worked to bring together a small video of his life for the memorial, capturing his story and his vision, which we would like to share with all of you. Bringing this video together was a labor of love, and in the process of going through his old videos and photos, we found an audio interview that had been done with Brad by my sister, Rebecca, for a college project in 2010. We thought, “Who better to narrate the story of Brad’s life than the man himself?”.

On behalf of the Meyers Family and everyone at B.E. Meyers & Co. Inc., we hope that those that watch this will all take some inspiration from Brad’s infectious enthusiasm for life, his company, and helping the end user. He was always thinking about what could be, the quest for what’s next, what hasn’t been done, or what could be done differently. B.E. Meyers is a small company that fights the big fight. Our motto is – “Build it right, Save a life”. That’s us. That is our core belief. We are in this business to help good guys put down bad guys wherever they be, and we all take pride in that mission.

As you will see from Brad’s story, “crazy” ideas can lead you down a path you didn’t know existed. He would encourage us all to never be afraid to pursue what we believe in, never stop learning, never stop being curious, and never let anyone deter your dreams. Those were his Optics of Optimism.

ANZAC Day

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017

Each April 25th some of our closest allies; Australia and New Zealand, commemorate the service and sacrifice of their Veterans. It’s a rather solemn affair. The day begins with a dawn service and then, there are several other events throughout the day, including parades.

It’s bigger than Veteran’s Day here, with more participation. ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. While April 25th might seem an odd date, it is actually the anniversary of the first major battle fought by ANZAC forces during World War One; the battle of Gallipoli, in what is now Turkey.

Please join us in honoring not only their fallen, but also the fact that they are on our team. Please take a moment and have an ANZAC biscuit on us.

Thank you Australia and New Zealand for everything you do in the Coalition.

Remembering The Fallen Of Operation Eagle Claw

Monday, April 24th, 2017

Today marks the anniversary of Operation Eagle Claw. In the early morning hours of 25 April, 1980 President Carter announced to a stunned world that the United States had undertaken an ambitious raid into Iran to liberate 52 American hostages held illegally at our Embassy in Tehran. Unfortunately, Operation Eagle Claw was unsuccessful and we lost eight American servicemen in a horrible aircraft ground collision. Join me in remembering their sacrifice.

Their sacrifice was not in vain. The hostages were eventually repatriated and the accident was the watershed event that created over the next several decades, the world’s preeminent Special Operations capability; USSOCOM and its components. We wouldn’t be where are today without the determination of that fledgling task force. Join me in remembering those that had the guts to try.
