NRAAM 2017 – Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch

Monday, May 1st, 2017

The Maritime Bolt Catch was designed to make it easier to use with wet hands or with the palm of your hand. What I really like about it is that I’ve seen many Bolt catches with enlarged upper pads, but rarely do they make the lower pad for locking the bolt to the rear, any larger.

Fits any lower reciever designed to fit Mil-Spec bolt catch. Manufactured from heat treated 8620 steel and manganese phosphate coated.

NRAAM 2017 – XAR Folding Rifle from F&D Defense

Monday, May 1st, 2017

img_1231.jpg

F&D Defense’s XAR Folding Rifle is the most remarkable thing I saw at this year’s NRA Annual Meeting. I’ve seen other folding designs but the invariably feature a folding stock.

The XAR hinges just in front of the upper receiver. The barrel folds to the side.

IMG_1238

The secret is the taper around the barrel extension which allows it to pivot right into position in the tapered upper receiver. Then, the barrel is locked into place via a latch, similar to many suitcases.

This short video shows you how it works.

F&D Defense will be releasing the XAR Invicta (5.56/AR15 platform) in summer of 2017.

NRAAM 2017 – BAR Floor Lamp

Sunday, April 30th, 2017

If you are looking for the ultimate accessory for your man cave or office, this BAR Floor Lamp I spotted in the Ohio Ordnance booth is just what you need.

These limited edition lamps are just five of a run of 10 and each one is serialized “x of 10.” They are really cool. The Trigger actually functions as the on/off switch and includes working sights/safety/mag release/bipod. The Barrels are 1944 dated and the base is fashioned into the Ohio Ordnance logo. Finally, this piece of art is signature engraved.

Brace yourself. The cost is $6500, but they are manufactured from actual BAR parts and not plastic lookalikes.

NRAAM 2017 – Airborne Tab for Geissele Super Charging Handle

Sunday, April 30th, 2017

The new Airborne Tab for Geissele’s Super Charging Handle is a bit lower profile so it won’t snag on equipment or jab you while jumping with an exposed weapon. Below, you can see the Airborne version compared to the standard tabs.

NRAAM 2017 – Hazard 4

Sunday, April 30th, 2017

Hazard 4 showed me their new patented, lockable buckle technology they are beginning to introduce into their line. It uses a switch to lock the belt closed which is more effective than the previous sliders they’ve used in the past. Additionally, this buckle has adjuster loops on both male and female ends so it can be used for belt applications.

NRAAM 2017 – SureFire XH15 Ultra Holster Light

Sunday, April 30th, 2017

The new MasterFire Holster from SureFire requires the use of a light designed specifically for use with the holster.  We’ve all seen the x300/400 series lights but SureFire is introducing a new polymer weapon light intended specifically for use with the MasterFire Holster.

Hitting the market by early Summer, the XH15 should come in at around $100. It features a MaxVision beam amd relies on a single CR123A bettery to offer 350 lumens for 1.25 hours.

NRAAM 2017 – ZEV Rifles?

Saturday, April 29th, 2017

Is there some foreshadowing going on in the ZEV Technologies booth?  Considering they recently bought Mega Arms, seems plausible to me.
