Blade Show 18 – Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment AM-1

Monday, June 4th, 2018

I love the story behind Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment. It’s about family.

Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment was founded on a young man’s dream. Bill Geissele was reading stories of backwoods adventures and survival to his son, Abraham. The stories described the age old battle between man and the elements, focusing on the equipment which proved invaluable to man’s survival. Abraham’s interest and imagination were piqued. “Dad, I want to make knives”, the young lad said; and a company named for Bill Geissele’s sons, Abraham and Moses, was born.

At Blade Show, they showed me their new Ferritic Nitro Carbonizing Coating for the AM-1 Knife. With an overall length of 9.5” and a D2 blade measuring 4.6”, it features a full tang construction. G10 handles are available in a variety of colors.

Blade Show 2017 – AM-1 from Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment

Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment is a relatively new knife manufacturer owned by Bill Geissele’s two sons. Their first release was a knife design by Special Operations Veteran Lou Goodman during SHOT Show. The new AM-1 was designed for camp chores and is made from D2 steel with 3D machined G10 handles. It offers a nice, full grip and features a thumb rest for better blade control during carving. It comes with a fieldcraft leather sheath and will run about $300.
