Help Build a National Monument to US Military Working Dog Teams

Military Working Dogs and their Handlers have served in all branches of the United States Armed Services since World War II. By US law (Public Law 110-181, Section 2877), there is a move to create a National Monument to these teams of men and dog. The tentative location is Lackland AFB TX home of the DOD MWD Training Center.

Do you know what the donation to these fine organizations is? I think it’s a great idea, and I need a new knife anyway, but I hate it when “a portion of the proceeds” is $1 on a $120 item.

I thought there was a Dog Team/Scout dog Plt monument going up at Ft Benning,GA…did it get cancelled or what??

When I and a now ex GF were there in 2006 or 2007, there was something there in the Infantry museum about that,and,IIRC, was also something in the quarterly pub there as well. I could be mistaken, but we had been waiting and waiting to hear of it being finished, and just assumed it was already approved and in the works.
