Very informative! One thing tht jumped out though…. What’s wrong with air drying? Anyone here know?

  Air drying is good for most of your outdoor gear and will in turn provide you a longer life in your products. Gore-Tex is one that is actually assisted by a tumble dry. The fabric treatment is a bit different and as SSD mentioned the heat helps re-activate the DWR and the molecules rebond to each other.

High heat for a short period of time is great to reactivate the DWR.
