AUSA – Knight’s LMG Goes M-LOK

Knight’s Armament displayed their LMG outfitted with a new M-LOK rail. The last time we saw this weapon it featured a Keymod rail.

Thanks JC!

KAC was one of the major proponents of Keymod. Amusing that they are going with M-Lok.

I guess they are willing to swallow their pride to provide a superior product that people really want.

You know M-LOK was “won” when BCM puts out M-LOK product. M-LOK’s survival/success, though, isn’t dependent upon Keymod’s failure.

*has won, not digging the iPad’s auto correct.

I think your perception of BCM’s market share/influence is mistakenly inflated.

        • BillC says:

Not saying they have a huge market share, but their name is a big one, and it appears they are very adamant against M-LOK. They do not even sell one M-LOK anything on their web store.

BCM is “all-in” with Keymod, so of course they aren’t M-LOK proponents. It’s not like they have an engineering staff that has made the determination that through testing, KeyMod is the answer. They went KeyMod early and have continued to push the system, with Kincel on board now.

KAC does have an engineering staff and a clientel of what is pretty much the definition of professional users. They, and their users, saw the advantages, and are moving that way.

It’s all good, though. More and more professional entities are testing them side-by-side, both in the lab and with users, and the result is what you see here–the switch to M-LOK.

If KeyMod suits your needs, fantastic, and I wish BCM and anyone else doing KeyMod the best of luck. Sony made Betamax for 13 years after the introduction of VHS, so you can likely have whichever you want for a good while.

            • james says:

The difference there is that beta was a better format, VHS won because it wasn’t proprietary and thus became less expensive. M-lok is a simpler and more durable system. No worrying about backward mounts killing the rail or little odd shaped holes changing shape with use. Keymod allowing you to get your mount in the exact location you want it may be it’s only win over M-lok.

You can’t just show half an MG! More MG!
