Sneak Peek – A-TACS and Tru Spec Colloborate To Offer Xtreme BDU

A-TACS and Tru Spec have collaborated on a new uniform offering called the A-TACS “Xtreme BDU”.

Offered in A-TACS AU-X, iX, FG-X and Ghost, Tru Spec is already taking pre-orders from retailers.

The Xtreme BDU is based on the GWOT Special Forces modified BDU/DCU, featuring Berry compliant vat dyed 50/50 NYCO ripstop.

The Xtreme top has slanted breast pockets, shoulder pockets with Velcro for unit/dept. patches and all button closers. The pants have a slimmer fit, enlarged belt loops, slanted cargo pockets and all button closers.

The Xtreme combat shirt will accompany the uniforms with adjustable boonie hat and Contractor hat. Most importantly the price point for a top and bottom will hover around $100-140.

They will be introducing the uniforms at the 2019 shot show. UFC Hall of Fame fighter Royce Gracie and the “Tac Girls” calendar models will be there along with the A-TACS & Tru Spec crew to answer your questions, sign autographs and calendars.

Doesn’t nearly as bad as its predecessors. Sort of what I would imagine modern great and uniforms would look like had SOF continued to develop tigerstripe following Vietnam.

Nice pattern in good cut. That said, Its only a matter of time till the Russians SOF shamelessly reproduce this pattern and rename it, same way they did w/ ATACS-FG, ATACS Arid, and Multicam. WWIII will be confusing as hell.

Who makes the plate carriers in the pictures above? Especially the 3rd from the top?

I was lukewarm on the original patterns, didn’t think breakup was sufficient.

I love the new stuff; that FG-X(?) in the top pic looks great.

I know US Camo became a more common thing in the ERDL and Tiger days, but was wet dirty light drab green that bad in low-viz jungle?

I agree. The the original FG lacked disruption and was too light. Multicam Tropic is too dark and also lacks breakup. The new FGX looks just right. I can tell the guys at ATACS put some effort into this one, nice job!
