The Commander of the Royal Netherlands Army (Commandant Landstrijdkrachten) recently visited Dutch Armor troops stationed in Bergen-Hohne who developed the new Tanker Coveralls with their German Army counterparts. They feature the new Netherlands Fractal Pattern camouflage.
Makes a lot of sense to issue it first to the one combat arms team that probably has the least need for individual camouflage clothing….
Makes a lot of sence. The project for the combat gear and clothing are years late. This particular project is done together with the germans and those guys are a bit faster with their projects, which explains the speed. Our clothing project also attempts to create a clothing system for all branches and all environments. So now all branches have to agree for all environments. That is a nightmare. I hope something good comes out of this mess, but I pitty the project manager.
German KSK use a similar jumpsuit. Similar protection on the elbows (in the form of honeycombs):

Especially hilarious considering the Dutch mothballed their cav years ago and all they have is a recce regiment. Great work, srebrenica
Wrong.
Actually 4./414 is the NL element within Bundeswehr Panzerbattaillon 414 in Lohheide. PzBtl 414 is again the armour unit for Dutch 43 Gemechaniseerde Brigade. The Dutch Army has exactly one tank company.
I thought it seemed odd that the only Dutch to get new camo were tankers until I read they and the Germans have been working on a tanker onesie together for a while. That explains why the honeycomb pattern is used for reinforcement as well. Since NFP is several years behind schedule maybe they felt pressure to get the joint program fulfilled.
They just wear out the old uniforms. It is not a fashion show. DPM is still perfectly fine. But when introducing a new piece, why use the old pattern?
It sounds like you are arguing against your own attempt at a point. Maybe it’s a language difference.
Remember that time Germany invaded the Netherlands. Pepperidge Farms remembers.
No, but every new garment must now be in NFP. They were ‘lucky’ to be the first. They really couldn’t care less actually.
