Mystery Cinch Giveaway

From the darkest corners of the internet comes….the Mystery Cinch. Now, you can own one even before the Marine Corps integrates it into the still-as-of-yet-sort-of-defined Family of Improved Load Bearing Equipment (FILBE) Marine Corps Pack.

It’s so simple it’s almost criminal. The Mystery Cinch routes the pack’s shoulder straps close to the center of of the chest and prevents them from creeping up under the arm. Additionally, pack straps don’t adjust taught like they would during normal wear so when released from the Mystery Cinch they fall right off the arm. Its single motion, quick-release design sheds the pack smoothly. Because the Mystery Cinch uses the armor’s PALS grid it offers the flexibility to accommodate a variety of armor vests, pouch configurations, and pack straps.

We’ve been writing about it for a couple of years now but in case you still don’t know how it works watch the viddy.

Three lucky readers will each receive their very own Mystery Cinch. To enter, all you have to do is post in the comments section of THIS thread on SSD, your favorite tactical pack and if applicable, why. Winners will be chosen at random at 1500 GMT on 5 May 2011 in honor of Cinqo de Mayo (I’ll be in San Diego after all).

Void where prohibited.

I gotta stick with the tried and true ALICE. I avoid my MOLLE as much as possible in exchange for my modified-as-possible-through-the-years ALICE.

I own many. Eagle, Granite, Camelback, ALICE. Just received my S.O.C. E and E. And I gotta say I’m In love. No friggin zippers around the main storage compartment. Just one large drawstring. Requires more stuff sack and organizational pouches than other 3 days and rucks but I gotta say I’m very very happy. Simple design. Holds a lot more than ita dimensions state. MOLLE webbing is abundant but not excessive. It has a small map flap with cover, small hook and loop panel. Comes out the box with excess webbing secured with built in elastic loops. Shoulder straps naturally stay where they of the arms. I have to say my last use was with a low profile chest harness and not a plate carrier so I’m not ready to say it works well with everything. Downside, waist straps are not removable and don’t have a home base to chill at…adapt an overcome, but vie always like how my eagle has loops to stow it around the front of the pack. Oh and did I mention it’s extremely lightweight. Favorite for now but my opinion will change I it doesn’t hold up o the he’ll I’m undoubtedly gonna put it through.

TAD Fastpack V3 all the way. The new ones are kind of gay looking, but the wedge shape is streamlined for running and gunning, and fits great in the patrol car. It has just the right amount of pouches and features without overdoing it.

I really like this idea! I own a pack, and it is constantly getting on my arms, and digging into my armpits. It makes it hard to go long distances comfortably. I could really use one of these. Seems like it could be a game-changer.

condor assault pack. its small and inexpensive and it gets the job done.

  6. Daniel says:

I love my MR 3DAP BVS…. It handles a radio , spare batts, water, 2xMREs, and other essentials better than any other 3 DAP I have ever used.

  7. Eeppi says:

Eagle A-III MOLLE RG, well because it was my first tactical pack. It has suited all my needs to this day. Great even on longer trips with the optional added sidepouches.

For disposable Chinese packs, I like my Kelty and REI daypacks. For longer missions, the Mystery Ranch Tacticplane. I have used an MR 3-Day Assault Pack and a Tactical Tailor Modular Assault Pack. TT pack is buryly , but seemed a bit under-thought and over-built. MR 3DAP is probably close to perfect -don’t like the built-in radio harness, but I just cut it out. Now it goes everywhere with me.

I saw one of these Mystery Cinches in use about a year ago -on an SF guy. I thought the guy was kind of being a wuss. It’s supposed to suck, right? Now, I just think he was smart.

  9. Sean says:

CamelBak TriZip, has the Mystery Ranch suspension harness which is very comfortable and the front opening zipper makes it easy to get to items at the bottom of the pack without dumping it in the field.

  10. Dustin says:

CamelBak TriZip (CamelBak’s version of Mystery Ranch’s TriZip) is my current favorite. It is my favorite just for the simple fact that you can get to anything in the pack easily and quickly.
I have wanted one of these Mystery Cinches since I saw a video of it on YouTube. Wearing a pack with body armor just plain sucks and I think this would make it sucks just a little less.

  11. Chris W. says:

My favorite pack now is The North Face recon pack. It is not because I was a Marine. It’s because it is tactical without looking to tactical. Holds what I need and is comfortable to wear. Most the time I look like a college student.

  12. Joe B says:

My favorite pack is the Mystery Ranch’s TriZip

    Kifaru Express

    Ok, that’s all folks!
