We heard rumors of a new, upgraded Remington ACR in August and that it would be debuted at Modern Day Marine. When we stopped by the Remington Military Products booth and inquired about this new, improved Adaptive Combat Rifle we were told to look for it at AUSA.
So, has anybody else heard anything about this mystery weapon?

From what I’ve heard they’ve trimmed a lot of weight and then of course there’s the modular rail system that’s similar to the one on the XM2010. One of the engineer’s also told me they’ve got a prototype magnesium alloy receiver to further trim weight.
I thought I saw it at Silencer Shoot back in June, I’m definitely stopping by their booth on Monday to check it out.
I was also at Silencer Shoot, one more thing I remembered: the charging handle is now angled down so using it when mounting a PEQ on the top rail is a lot easier. Here’s a photo I took of the one they had at Silencer Shoot. http://taylorphotostudio.com/RemACR_01.jpg
You can actually find it on Remington Military’s site. Here: http://www.remingtonmilitary.com/Firearms/Carbines/ACR.aspx
The new one has a redesigned charging hangle, an alloy lower, accepts AR pistol grips, larger triggerguard, slightly altered magwel, and a few other changes.
I haven’t heard anything about an upgraded version, but I hope it’s true! The last thing that was relayed to me was that Rem. was focusing on lightning of the gun and getting cost down a bit. IMO those are good things to look at fixing, but they need to make the gun work first!
@Charlie- Nice pic! Although that looks like pretty standard Remington ACR. Do you know if that gun had any changes done internally?
@kvalseth- Remington ACR has always had AR grip capability, flared magwell, larger trigger guard all on an alloy receiver.
I was looking for it at the 2011 International Sniper Competition but did not see it at the Remington table.
Is that Remington link working for anybody else?
It worked earlier. Maybe the site is getting overloaded based on the subject of this post.
