The various forms of HSGI’s Taco, arguably the most versatile mag pouch on the market, are beginning to spread abroad. A prominent coalition partner just bought a couple thousand or more o
f them for one of their special operations units and HSGI recently shipped a bunch off to the US Border Patrol to use on duty. Congratulations Gene, and all of HSGI — not for the big sale, but for building something so effective and reliable it is an honest asset to the boys and girls on the ground.
If you’ve been living under a rock and have never heard of it, the High Speed Gear Inc. Taco is a magazine pouch with shock cord laces that will secure just about any magazine into place. You can literally 
use it for everything from PMAGs to AKs, FALs to M14s, and never have to adjust your rig or switch out pockets (there are Tacos out there for the Barrett and .338 Lapua, too). There are Taco pouches, double Taco pouches, combo Tacos with for rifle and pistol mags (or flashlights or multi-tools or whatever). They’ve also added adapters to the line, allowing you to mount the Tacos on belts, with a paddle, to MOLLE or whatever. You can get them in Black, Smoke Green, Coyote, Khaki, the various Gucciflages and soon, the new ATACS. They’ve even made ‘em in Pink and Black.

I have been using and recommending HSGI gear since 2005 when I used their Wasatch plate carrier, and other items, in Iraq. I’m glad to see them getting a big contract. Way to go guys.
Been using the TACO for a while now with .308 Magpul mags and they work great! I doubt I ever use anything else.

Just went to their website and watched the video for the Taco pouch, GREAT looking gear!! Is it possible though to find somebody to demo it that’s less than morbidly obese and who might actually have a snowball’s chance in hell of using the gear in theater? Watching him try to fiddle with the gear over his huge belly is distracting!
Search it up on youtube. Theres a canadian guy that reviewed them.

I’ve had many of Gene’s products over the years. He is truly one of the best innovators out there in the crowded tactical gear market. Everything he makes is top-notch and is usually my “go-to” gear.
I’m surprised that Condor, or some other slave labor sewing shop in Asia, hasn’t knock these off yet.
