SWAT Magazine Goes Back to its Roots

Anyone who remembers the SWAT magazine of the 80s will recall that the name at the time was ‘Survival Weapons and Tactics.’ With this newest issue, hitting newsstands now, they are going back to that name in honor of the heritage of the magazine but also relevancy. The times today are quite similar to the times that spawned the monthly in the first place, and their current content is very much aimed at the prepared American.

That’s cool! I like the hook line at the top of the cover, definitely will be getting this issue.

Just picked this one up last night. I am appeased to see the gears shifting toward the prepared American. I have been a long time reader of the SWAT magazine and I look forward to seeing more emphasis on the vetted civilian.

“For the prepared American” at the time had me thinking it was survivalist extremist stuff a for my nd that unfortunatly put me off it for years. I’m a regular reader now. Here’s some irony during my 20 months of training and deployment to Aghan the only time I couldn’t get issues was when I was on US bases. The PX’s just didn’t carry it. Not politically correct? Bad for my morale. That’s ok I’m back in Canada where I can get it.
