TNVC Torch PRO Infrared Illuminator Update

20120706-160652.jpg

The other day we told you about the new Torch PRO Infrared Illuminator from Tactical Night Vision Company. Turns out, in addition to being compatible with SureFire XM and Z59 Tailcaps, the Torch PRO LED head unit is also compatible with all 2-Cell SureFire G2, 6P, and C-Series Light Bodies. Naturally, this really increases the versatility of the unit. Users who already have one of these SureFire lights in a weapon mount can simply unscrew the head and swap in the Torch PRO head for night vision operations.

The website doesn’t say it, but is the head by itself less expensive than if the whole light was purchased?

    • SSD says:

That’s a good question. I’ll see what I can find out.

      • The stand alone head will be offered on its own late summer. It will be a few dollars less. (Approx. $20.00)

Only the full body package is currently offered.

        Thanks guys.

Seriously Vic, $20 less than full price for a complete flashlight? That math doesn’t add up, I don’t see many people purchasing a stand alone head when they can have the whole enchilada for $20 more.

    • SSD says:

      I think that’s the point.

      • PLiner says:

Then why even offer it up as an option if it isn’t something the vendor really wants to do to provide the customer with a viable option? It’s not only counterproductive it paints the vendor in a bad light (no pun intended).

        • SSD says:

If you’ve ever had to buy one of these, this thing isn’t that expensive in the first place. There are loads of users that are just fine buying the whole thing and then adapting the head to their existing set up. And contrary to uninformed opinion, most of the cost is in the head anyway.
