  1. Anyone notice the fact when he did his magazine changed he ejected a good round? Not good. Take a look at mark 1:24.

Not sure I see your point? I couldn’t tell if it was live or spent, but I think it hardly matters anyway. He got his gun up and running quickly and continued to engage the targets. I don’t know that one round will make much difference unless you are shooting a qualification course and only get issued X number of rounds to meet the standard.

Better to lose that one round charging your rifle then to come out from cover to engage a target and hear that hammer fall on an empty chamber because you THOUGHT you were hot. That can be the loudest noise you ever hear…and everybody seems to hear it.

      • Kurt says:

Eric, nice apology for leaving good ammo on the ground, but since you brought it up…exactly what “targets” was he shooting at ? Oh…the “off camera” targets. Meaning, he was just free shooting for the camera at nothing and pulling the trigger fast for a cool guy video.

      • One round when you are actually in a firefight will make ALL the difference in the world. Life and death really. Training is the time when you can afford to lose a round “regardless of the standard” because it’s really not life of death if you shoot a 25 on a qual course or a 24 now is it?

If the round he ejected was “spent” then he’s got problems with his gun not getting rid of the spent round.

If you are unsure if you have a live round in the chamber do a press check, let the bolt go back forward, tap the forward assist and continue on.

  2. Stretch says:

Is it normal practice to just lob your magazines away?
I would assume they are not bottomless supply.

  3. mike says:

I’d like the STS guys on my side any day, and I’d spare a round or two to make it happen. Good shooters aren’t perfect and being so anal about everything, even a recorded advertisement, will bring you a lot of disappointment in life.

  4. Bill says:

Well, if you’re reloading, it’s probably because you think you are running low/out of ammo, and if you are in a fight, you’ll want to make sure that you actually have a round in the chamber, so you’d charge the chamber, and if you weren’t actually dry you’d toss a live round, and if you were carry six 30 rounders plus one in the rifle, you would have lost 1/210th of your ammo, just to make certain that it went bang instead of click, unless you topped your mags at 29 rounds so they all feed the first round from the same side, plus really screwing with the ammo accountant.

But that’s just me, blame it on my ADD…

  5. Guerrilla says:

So has this become a forum to sharpshoot everything posted?

    • SSD says:

Yes, because people can’t tell the difference between a marketing video, video games and reality.

      • But when the caption says “STS Covers AR15 M16 Tactical Shooting and Reloading” you’d assume that you would see the fundamentals done correctly first.

        I like the music though.

  6. Morden says:

All kinds of cover and the dude just stood in the open all hollywood like. Weird!

  7. Big Red One - Ramadi says:

Nothing for nothing, it just makes for an enjoyable music video. In fact the official video video to this song is beyond lame. Everyone is stuck on tactics when there is no enemy… Enjoy it for what it is. Simply a well thought out music video. The Only other videos done well like this with similar infocus / unfocused footage would be from the edge observer.com

In fact I think he writes his own music while providing fabulous knife reviews. Check it out here: http://www.edgeobserver.com/category/knife_reviews/hogue/

AWOLNation, “Sail” There’s a badass wing suit video set to it.

    • Haji says:

There’s a considerably funnier one with a cat jumping off a railing, too. Also under the heading “grinding the crack”.

  9. Craig Petersen says:

It’s an advertisement for a decent company and really all this talk is just splitting hairs instead of just enjoying it for what it is. Maybe he should of used a dump pouch for the Mag change? maybe he should of used the terrain to his advantage? but are you going to see what they’re selling behind cover? It’s an ad not a video on TTP’s…

    Cheers.
