OR – Mystery Ranch

20130123-160527.jpg

I’ve been after Mystery Ranch to let me run their IFAK. It’s been under development and refinement for awhile and it’s almost ready to order (Kent says 60 days). As you can see it is a butterfly design that opens up to reveal your medical equipment.

It features a PALS attachment on the rear so you can attach it to your equipment.

It’s also available in a larger VLAK (Vehicle Litter Aid Kit) that is basically double the size of the IFAK. Mystery Ranch will also offer them kitted with medical supplies from North American Rescue.

    What’s it going to cost?

Totally ripped of Zulu and Its Tactical Design. I would expect way more moral from a company such a Mystery Ranch! BS I hate when people do this. Mystery Ranch will claim there the first double Zipper designer and Snug Pack stole there design.
So This gives them free right to steal Zulu’s and ITS Collaboration to design there Med pouch! This is obvious. Bad JUJU for them! ts far from there original design of there double zipper and exactly like Zulu and ITS.

This isn’t the ITS design. In fact, this thing has been around for a couple of years now going through gradual development. I’m getting a little fed up with all of these “experts” coming on here and mistakenly saying that one company or another copied someone. I used to have a shoe shine kit that opened just like the ITS pouch. Does that mean that they stole the design? No. Have I seen an almost stitch for stitch copy of the ITS pouch? Yes, but it didn’t come from MR.

      Brian,
Packs and Beyond did a review of one of the earlier IFAK prototypes dated back in 2011, which implies that the development pre-dates that by several months. Not to mention they use the same zipper configuration on their external pouches.

Yes. Because Mystery Ranch haven’t been using this pocket design on their products for years already.

  4. Doc says:

Mystery Ranch has been devolving this pouch way before ITS Tactical premiered their pouch so I would be throwing around insults like that.

I love this site. I am military member who comes to this site to see newly developed cool gear that benefits war fighters and the great reviews contractors/military/retired contribute alike. I don’t come to this site to read about which companies are talking trash about each other.

i haven’t used the butterfly style on my kit before. What other butterly style pockets are out there?

    • U.S. Army says:

ITS pouch has been around for a pretty good while, and I think is superior to this in design. The ITS pouch will hold all of your IFAK plus extra, and will deploy rapidly with either hand in most positions.

They do have a new slim one, but I don’tlike it and wont replace my old one anytime soon.

Yes, great minds think alike… and there are only so many ways to skin a cat… (taste like chicken! so I am told) This would not be the first time to solid companies came up with similar designs… get over it!

The quality and integrity of MR is unquestionable… they simple build great kit !

This is just another example of their commitment to build product that makes the job of the warfighter easier…simplier… heck they what hese guys to get home in one piece and that has not changed.

When will this be released for purchase?
