Make Ready With Matt Jacques: Fundamentals of Everyday Carry – Trailer

Like Haji said in the comments section of our previous mention of the new Panteao title, “Make Ready With Matt Jacques: Fundamentals of Everyday Carry”, “There are a whole lot of people that are getting CCW’s but that lack the information necessary to take the most advantage of it because they simply lack experience and access to information.” He’s right and that’s why we’re super excited about this video featuring Matt Jacques.

    • mike says:

having stood next to the man, I think it’s unlikely you would look him in the eye and repeat that. not sure why you’d want to, anyway. the man is a professional, a warrior, and a good guy; he deserves your respect.

    • Borebrush says:

zack- Apologize to the English language.

  2. David Reeder says:

Zach, you’re an idiot. I was going to respond more in detail, but…really, if what you took away from that is that he should do crossfit, you’re truly moronic so I just don’t think I’ll bother.

  3. Victory First says:

Zach, thanks for the suggestion. If I had not had my back broken while serving the citizens of this country, I would probably do a little more to stay in better shape. Thanks for the pointers! (take a look into some English classes for your sake).
    Stay safe.

    • David Reeder says:

Quit whining Matt. So you had a third of your vertebrae replaced with a steel rod. Big deal. Zach is probably a steely-eyed warrior who would be more than willing to look you in the eye and say that.

However, rather than completely digress and lest all the comments here detract from the point of the article, let me say this – I’ve taken the class and it was absolutely superb. I don’t care if you’re a concealed carry holder, a full time cop or someone on the top end of the military operational spectrum, if you carry concealed or go low profile into arm’s way, you can learn something from a Victory First course. The class I took had relative newcomers up to salty shooters indeed (I was on the low end) and amazingly the class went without any interruptions or issues despite the disparity in skill level. Very good stuff.

Matt, I’m sorry you felt the need to come in here and defend yourself. Zach’s comments and those like his prompted the “abuse it and lose it” post.

Zach’s comments speak directly to maturity. The longer you are around and the older you get, you will work with guys with injuries, or have them yourself. Some injuries can be overcome, some we learn to adapt to and other keep us down. I like seeing that Matt is still out there, sharing his knowledge. Hopefully, Zach won’t be injured. And hopefully, Zach will make something of his life and be good enough at it to pass along when the time comes.

  4. Victory First says:

Thanks for the AAR David. Classes will be picking up again soon, maybe a trip to your AO is in order in 2013.

  5. Zach Ellis says:

All of us in the military have back problems….we still have enough personal pride to stay in shape. Excuses are like your shooting ability…weak.

    • SSD says:

Why do use a different email address than name?

      • Zach Ellis says:

OPSEC man, always keep them guessing…

        • Borebrush says:

You know nothing of his shooting ability. In regards to you comparing a sore back with a no shit broken back, really dude? Matt was run over in a targeted hit by a shitbag who ID’d him on a traffic stop. The perp turned a round and ran him over. Targeted hit… Saying we all have back issues is a disservice. Show some goddamn respect, douchebag.

Your Xfit fixation on another mans body is quite telling. Just like the haters that judge on physical appearance in every class, it falls away when you get beat on a pac timer and shot group by a guy who can’t do burpee’s for an hour straight. Whats also quite telling is the fact your are so hung up on it, that you jettison all value added for something not salient to shooting.

          It’s ok, I knew everything at 20-stupid too…

  6. Mike P says:

Zach obviously never met Matt. Keyboard tough guys make me laugh.

Proudly rocking my Victory First Patch.
