    You can buy an 1170 pelican case with foam for $39 online…not sure that using a surplus case + the cost of foam would save much $, if any.

    For civilian side buying surplus NVG cases – probably not. But for any unit loaded down with tons of the useless things like we were, these do work perfect. We had other (larger) gear we stuffed in there, but they are good transport cases.
