The Rocky C5C is the next step in their lightweight series of boots. Designed for limited duration ops, the C5C is also meant for training, competitions and PT. The biggest difference between the new model and its C4T forebear is the sole.

As you can see it’s quite aggressive with the tread extending up the heel counter as well as toe.

Additionally, the vamp is now leather so as to eliminate any doubt that these are AR 670-1 compliant. The C5C also Incorporates a metallic mesh venting system as found on the C4T.

Why No US Army Camouflage Announcement?

Monday, October 21st, 2013

Here at AUSA, I’m hearing the same reason now that I heard in May relating to the postponement of the Army Birthday announcement for a new camouflage pattern. And that reason is perception. The Army apparently doesn’t want to be seen as extravagant by announcing a new camouflage pattern while no one has any money. Never mind that continuing to purchase UCP is a waste of money. It’s all about appearances sake. As for OCP, the “plan” is to purchase it as they go and somehow, someway, it will transmorph into the Army Camo pattern.

Now this isn’t an official announcement because the Army doesn’t want to talk about camouflage at all, well at least not with reporters, so take it as you will.

SKEDCO | ADS TV | AUSA Expo 2013

Monday, October 21st, 2013

Bud from SKEDCO stops by to talk with ADS TV about the Sked® Rescue Stretcher Kit. The Original rolled rescue stretcher.

Designed for confined space, high angle or technical rescue, and traditional land based applications, the Sked stretcher’s revolutionary design provides outstanding patient protection and security.

The Sked® comes equipped for horizontal hoisting by helicopter or vertical hoisting in caves or industrial confined spaces. When the patient is packaged the stretcher becomes rigid. The durable plastic provides protection for the patient while allowing extrication through the most demanding confined spaces. The stretcher is rolled for storage in a tough cordura backpack which is included with the system. The system ships at 18 lbs and comes complete for most applications. The Sked® is available in International Orange or O.D. Green for military, S.W.A.T. and other tactical situations.

AUSA – Commando

Monday, October 21st, 2013

Ok, it’s not Cadillac Gage and this isn’t The Viet Nam war or the Saudi Arabian National Guard. No, it’s the Textron Commando Select and it serves as a testament that some designs just don’t go away. That’s a 90mm cannon on this model and I hear rumor that they intend to offer it for a light tank requirement for the 82nd Abn Div.
