S.O. Tech has launched the new Basic Issue Line. The premise behind the Basic Issue Line is to offer a barebones design approach: Simple, Strong, Economical, and US Made. It’s inexpensive and designed to wear like iron in a similar to the gear you were issued in basic training. It’s not fancy but it gets the job done. The current run of the Basic Issue Line consists of three products: the Duty Go Bag, Cheetah Sling, and Jaguar Sling.
Duty Go Bag
The Duty Go Bag is a quick grab n’ go bag satchel, ideal for med kit, active shooter, and range use. Similar to the classic MGB in size, the DGB features a large main compartment, two large pockets for organization, one long slash pocket for documents or similar items, and a removable foam insert. The 2″ wide shoulder strap is full adjustable, and a 2″ x 4″ Velcro field allows for an ID or morale patch. Made from 500D Cordura nylon.

Cheetah 2 Point Sling
The Cheetah 2-point sling easily mounts to an attachment swivel. A reinforced Tri-Glide clip allows for quick adjustments on the fly: tighten to prevent bounce and shift and loosen for ease of movement when aiming. Made from 1″ wide webbing and polymer.
Jaguar Single Point Sling
The Jaguar Single Point Sling attaches to any weapon with a sling swivel or hook via a heavy duty HK Hook Clip. It’s fully adjustable and features an elastic bungie. Made from 1″ wide webbing, polymer, and elastic.

Pretty interesting idea, it’s nice that someone is starting to make gear that should be more practical for everyday folk and non-SOCOM military personnel. However, to be truly like the stuff I had in boot camp it would have to be second or third hand gear that’s very well worn and used. 😀
