Soldier Systems, why the crush on Kitanica Products? what agency or group actually issues this stuff as kit?

    • Riceball says:

If I’m not mistaken, Adam Savage of Mythubusters fame wears their stuff all the time. Ok, granted that he’s not neither military nor LE but he’s on TV so that’s gotta count for something.

They innovate and they’re American made. That’s why.

      • Ave Guy says:

I see nothing innovative about them or their products, other than putting psudo-military looks into high priced fashion clothing and getting TV personalities to wear it.

  2. Riceball says:

That’s a sweet looking jacket, pity I don’t have $400+ to spare on a jacket.

  4. A quality Jacket is an inherently expensive garment; 2nd only to a new suit on the price hierarchy of clothing. I’ve bought two urban winter jackets in the last 10 years, and both were over $500.

Kitanica makes awesome gear, and generally they have higher prices because they’re actually sewing it together, with all US labor, immigrant or not, the rates are higher in the US.

The US has much higher labor rates due to treating people like human beings, safety requirements, department labor, you know like most other countries that don’t use children.

Considering that Kitanica is a small company, not quite like the other big textile firms of old, it can’t go out and buy as much material and get the cost savings.

They have been progressively getting better at pricing items at a lower margin and targeting a different market demographic. However you also have to realize that Kitanica might not have the same market goals, TT, LBX, Propper, or 5.11. They might be more in line with people who are going to spend the money on Crye gear. People that are willing to spend the extra money.

It’s always funny too; a bunch of tactical hillbilly wankers running around in 5.11 gear bitching about America going to hell and how we need to bring American Manufacturing back, but then bitching about having to pay a higher price on goods made in American, by Americans that want to work a normal 8/40.

Make up your mind! BUY ONCE, CRY ONCE!

Bought a pair of their bush pants when they were on sale – love them. They are seriously indestructible albeit a little on the heavy side. I support these guys.

No overcoat? How can one dual wield ARs without it?
