Naming your camo pattern after a disease isn’t really a good marketing decision. LOL
Neither is having it nearly impossible to see a clear picture of it or buy any produts with the pattern but to each his own.
It means wolf. Their other patterns are Ursa and Vipera. It fits in with Orion.
I really like this photo.

So do I. Just can’t wait to see it in the wild.
We named our whole company after the disease ;). SSD is right, LUPUS means Wolf….too many people watching Dr.House these days.

Felix
or have friends that have Lupus…
Not meant as an offenes, sorry my friend.
get butt hurt
My mother-in-law has Lupus. She had to leave the Air Force because of the illness. It’s no laughing matter.
LOL yes we’ve been running into that however all our patterns are named after apex predators in Latin.
Still would rather see it against actual real-world backgrounds so I can see how it works… Although this does look rather promising for treeline/alpine stuff
Go visit their facebook page. They hunt in it all of the time.
Should have thought of that myself, thanks and I like what I saw
A camouflage pattern that blends well into… the very same camouflage! Now, that is impressing. Not.
Which environmental backdrops did you analyze to come up with this pattern, and, especially the color palette? The blueish shade of green makes me curious. And, is there a macro pattern? It seems there isn’t, but perhaps it’s obscured by the gun?
This isn’t a new pattern. It was submitted to the Army Camo Improvement Effort but was not considered because ODG did not submit the flat electronic files of the pattern in the proper format.
Lucky them. Not being considered for *that* Effort would have been – me thinks – the best possible outcome for anyone. 😀
M5, we are super happy that we didn’t get caught in the torrent of CIP bullshit that has occurred. Keep in mind colors translate differently through different computer screens and camera lenses.
Btw, looking at ODG’s fb pages, it seems that the color of the pattern isn’t at all as blueish as it appears in the pic on SSD.
Never trust the color of a pic on your screen without proper calibration or reference. A familiar environment as a backdrop is a good reference, btw.
I do like the look of the pattern. Though that light tan seems a bit too prominent. But I will look to see how it looks in the proper setting.
the light tan seams to be far to prevalent in most modern green patters like A-tacs FG either that or the green is way to bright like Greenzone not sure what environments these patterns are made for…
Thanks for the interest and questions guys and thanks for the post SSD.
Tell you what guys I will get some photos together and do a proper post tomorrow to address all your questions. But right now I have a 5 hour drive ahead of me to go shoot Mule Deer and Elk.
In the mean time check out http://www.facebook.com/oriondesigngroup look at the ungulate interdiction operations album. And environmental test photos
Thanks!!
I always appreciate when a manufacturer or individual responds to comments in a post about them.
Now can’t to see some of your stuff in the wild.
OOOOWwww!!! MY EYES!!! THEY BURRRNSESS!!!
(maybe that’s the point?) O.o
If you stare at it long enough, it turns into a man killing….something. Efficiently
