The world’s best priced, 640×480, military grade monocular combines the high quality BAE thermal core with advanced electronics in a rugged, user friendly housing to bring users a next level, thermal detection device.

“Military, First Responders, and Sportsmen all have a need to see in the dark, but with limited budgets, quality products are typically out of reach. Performance, Durability and Affordability

Whether it’s protecting our boarders, searching for a lost child, or eradicating feral hogs, operators need high resolution thermal images in a small robust device. The IR Patrol thermal monocular is a game changer for the night vision industry. For the first time ever, night vision users can enjoy thermal high definition imagery under five thousand dollars ($5,000.00 USD).

The IR Patrol features an advanced user interface with a military grade, five position mini joy stick that is the perfect size. The monocular’s ergonomic design provides users optimum functionality. The menu system was engineered to be intuitive and efficient to operate.

“The IR Patrol feels right in your hand. This thermal monocular is just plain sexy.” said David Rhomberg, Vice President Sales and Marketing, IR Defense Corporation. “I have been marketing night vision products for over fourteen years and have seen about every consumer and military grade night vision device on the market. No product has ever impressed me like our new thermal monocular.”

  1. Taylor says:

And people wondered why there was a mounting option on that new Team Wendy helmet.

  2. Bushman says:

That is just great. And really inexpensive, if compared with other devices on market. For example, FLIR FirstMate for marine applications has four times less resolution of sensor with only 9Hz refresh rate, costs around $3500.

  3. George says:

I see it paired as a clip-on with an 1X optic. I wonder if it will be useful with higher magnification?

  4. IR DEFENSE is a relatively new company, and we have some experience with their technology, so I’ll share for the group. Devin Standard is a friend, savvy about thermal from his time at inSight, and he was helping IR DEFENSE during 2014. When we saw him at SOFIC last year at the Barrett booth, we convinced him to bring some scopes to our annual hog hunt retreat. We had night permits and a diverse crowd, so we had some fun testing it with new friends, old friends, and our team. Devin has since moved on to help other companies in the industry, but our impression of IR DEFENSE hasn’t faded. The clarity of the thermal image is phenomenal… it’s just amazing. There is simply no comparison of this technology to night vision like a PVS-14. Side by side, the image quality looked better than mil spec thermal systems costing 5 times as much. It seemed durable (but we tried not to drop it), and the menu was simple to use. It’s great to see this new product come outside the rumor circle, and we wish IR DEFENSE all the best for 2015. Good work guys! Bros: We’ll put one of these on a destruction path in 2015, if you want to check it out, just ask.
