*More generous fit* for the Naga.

    getting sick of salad anyways.

I like walking into the booth at SHOT and being suprised. I feel like I found all my gifts from santa in my parents closet a week before Christmas

  3. JT says:

Atleast I haven’t seen the Recce hat yet

FR… for when you want to sell something everyone asks for, but no one buys. All jokes based on extensive experience aside. Can’t wait to see the new line up.

So far, it’s only a few accessories. The balaclava is awesome.

I know small FR items will sell, OR stuff did well, so that should be good. I won’t go into how uniforms, shells etc do, but the words stagnate and ironically fire-saled below cost come to mind. Unit sales for those items are the best route. I’m sure the line up is worthy of the bird that is scribed on it.

Shame they got rid of the Talos line. It was more affordable than some of their other offerings especially compared to their new Combat Uniforms which appears to be focused on the same end use. The Chimera was another great product now discontinued.

I had high hopes they’d address the bright inner collar of the Bravo Croc and Wolf Jackets. Not this year I guess. Glad to see they did fix the sizing on the Naga as mine are either too tight or too roomy depending on sizing.

Still waiting on a Wolf Combat Jacket … >_>

I like the fact that they are evolving and daring to try certain things that may not be come off as huge winners in concept. TALOS was great, but the system wasn’t a huge seller, especially for pants. I see this as a GEN 2 to that. Sending them direct feedback via email about their products is something that they may appreciate.

I think a lot of it has to do with their product line and how it’s marketed. Prior to the 2015 lineup, there almost seemed to be multiple items covering the same end uses and with similar capabilities. They ended up with a somewhat diluted product line where there was a lot of overlap and it was a little confusing to the consumer as to which product was right for them. This new 2015 lineup is more evolved, but more importantly much more streamlined and with a clearer message as to which end uses the various items are targeting. So huge kudos to Arc’teryx for that. But I still think removing some of the lower cost clothing options from the line is a miss-step. The lower cost items gave them access and exposure to consumers not previously aware of the quality behind the Leaf products and who lacking the knowledge of what set these apart from the competition, may be unwilling to drop the premium coin for it. I say this as someone who used to buy good quality but still more budget based clothing and now am a convert owning most of the Leaf line.

Waiting to see how the updated OR Overlords turn out, but I’m really liking those gloves.

  8. Matt says:

Werent the LEAF guys venturing into some lines of footwear and boots this year?

  9. Ghosteryx77 says:

Did anyone else notice the Gen II Combat Pants are now available in black. Love it.

On a separate note…no more Sphinx line?

    • Jon, OPT says:

A lot of their combat shirts/ shells (Gryphon, Sphinx, etc) didn’t sell well for us, that may have also been an issue with them too, hence the cut down. I honestly don’t know, but of the ones they introduced around 2011 most barely sold at all over a 12-18 months period for our store. My guess is it was pricing to consumer, but there are always factors I don’t see as a vendor.

I’m looking forward, it’s their job to look back and see what failed and why, then mitigate a repeat of this occurence.

    • Shawn says:

Almost of the mythical creature product families are going away. Naga and Minotaur are the major notable exceptions.

  10. Shawn says:

    Oops. Sorry Jon, OPT.

  11. Nick says:

I wonder how more generous the sizing on the Naga is compared to the old ones… anyone have any insight?

  12. Tyler says:

Have they discontinued the Rho LTW beanie and gaiter in crocodile? I noticed that the non-LEAF side now has them in dark moss; is that the same colour as crocodile?

  13. Chris says:

Oh bloody hell.. better shirt design and RG options. Time to hide the wallet.

  14. BrianK says:

Its cool they are offering things in ranger green finally.
