Check Out Crossbones From The Upcoming Captain America: Civil War

crossbones-captain-america-pic

With Avengers 2 out, and Ant-Man on the horizon, it’s no surprise to see the work continues on the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. Such is the case with this early picture of Crossbones from the currently-in-production, yet slated for a May 2016 release, Captain America: Civil War.

Crossbones, one of Captain America’s most iconic arch-nemeses in the comics, can be seen kitted up in gear from various manufacturers, including S&S Precision, Benchmade Knives, Safariland, G-Code, and AustriaAlpin/ITW.

If we didn’t know any better, we’d swear this looks like something our friends at Tactical Pro Shop were involved with, as they often are. We’re looking forward to seeing what other gear pops up, and for the movie in general.

More pics and info on the movie itself can be found at screencrush.com/crossbones-grillo-first-look

How on earth does he grab the high right shoulder mags….especially with the brace thingies on his hands?? Or for that matter the shells on his left?

    • SSD says:

It’s a movie based on a comic book.

    • T says:

I bet he’ll never grab them ever. And the chance that the design will be tweaked is pretty good, depending on where they are in filming.

Aside from having to suspend disbelief (Captain America is a super soldier created by exposure to VitaRays, after all) It looks like the guys hands can come out of the harness/brace. I can reach my right bicep with my left hand just fine.

The big shocker for me is that his plate carrier isn’t an S&S Plate frame. Those things are so action movie cool!

      • Everything in the Marvel universe is connected, and we have to keep an eye on differentiating the good guys from the bad guys / different groups of bad guys.

We did custom S&S Plateframes on the TV series Agents of Shield for a group of Hydra troopers.

You really ought to sign up on a forum called The RPF (Replica Prop Forum), there’s lots of people there who would love to know what you used to make the Crossbones costume in order to recreate it for themselves.

This stuff will be the real thing in the battle field soon.

    okay that just looks awsome

Isis has really stepped up it’s propaganda game.

  5. ARman says:

Those mag holders on his right shoulder…isn’t those the Wilder Tactical holsters, and not the G-Code Scorpion series mag holders?

  6. Terry says:

Looks like an AUG mag up there.

  7. Chris K. says:

    Mags on shoulders, hmmm.

  8. Matt K. says:

Guilty as charged. I’m really surprised how early these spy pics are out, they’ve barely started filming.

Crossbones does look rad, and there’s a bunch more coolness to come. It’s a shame the film is a year away.

Suspend your disbelief a bit. Gear placement decisions are often more aesthetic than functional. But I think we agree the look is badass.

  9. Darrel says:

Hmm, mags on the shoulder seems like a pretty good idea…. maybe I’ll buy some MSAP deltoids and put TACOs upside down on them….. Maybe…..

  10. Lcon says:

looks like the Costume is beyond taticool with the costume designers aiming for a heavy Powered suit look. Considering how the character ended winter soldier he would need it especially if he it trying to take cap.
