  1. Agent K says:

I appreciate how he explained “Away Sick” and trying to balance that and home life. It isn’t easy but that is what we do.

  2. Rugrash says:

I have always liked TH and now I have a new found respect for him. Excellent video…thanks!

  3. I’ve known Trav’s for a long time now. Thank you for your service Brother and what you do for the community as a whole. – Vic

  4. DatGun says:

Can we take a min to talk about the right side of the background pic? What in the is he carrying – a pistol with a rifle length silencer and rifle sized aimpoint?

    • Andrew says:

      That hush-puppy though.

    • Chris U'5 says:

Exactly what I thought yesterday when I first saw the advert! I’d love to hear some more info on what it actually is.

    • Ben says:

If I remember rightly from the larger pic (it’s easy enough to find on google) it’s a Ruger MK II or III with a Comp M4 and M4QD suppressor. Presumably it also has the QD flash hider mounted.

I’ve never heard of a suppressed .22 in the US Military which wasn’t integrally suppressed though.

Given that Travis talks about learning machining on-ship it wouldn’t surprise me if he put that together himself!

    • AlexC says:

In my opinion it’s a Smith&Wesson 22A with a long barrel and what appears to be some external threading. You can barely make out the shape of the grip and what appears to be the safety and slide release in about the same place as in the picture.

  5. Serrano says:

I am one of the few who had a chance to have met and taken a class from Travis Haley, I know he had started something back then when he was in MAGPUL and you could see the impact that he had made in the weapon system industry and training industry. He opened a lot of peoples mind in the way he thinks. Now you could see a lot of instructors have pick up his way of thinking. My agency after so many years have finally adopted the mind set and weapons manipulations. Through his methods I could say I become a better gun fighther and ready to smoke check anyone if they decide to thread with me while I protect the people that I need to protect and keep the peace. Thanks for your knowledge Travis Haley and thanks for sharing your life with us. Semper Fi!

  6. Stone Hands says:

    Excellent Video!

  7. Darrel says:

Travis Haley is one of the only “tactical celebrities” that I don’t despise. Everything I’ve seen from him leads me to believe he has the right ideas about weapon manipulation and taking full advantage of the features of your weapon.

I refuse to buy the D3, because I have spent too much money already on LBT 1961s, Rhodesians and various other chest rigs that are either superior, or more brag worthy than the D3, heh

  8. Jon says:

Good video. I think it would be real easy for Travis to come off as aloof or holier than thou. He’s got a wealth of experiance in the real and training worlds, and some world class shooting skills. He obviously has a deep understanding of shooting and manipulations, but he doesnt preach at people or act like hes better than anyone. I appreciate his humility and willingness to learn.

As an example, if you go back and watch the Dynamic Handgun DVD, he basically says he doesnt condone Appendix Carry, but has obviously grown since then to see its usefullness. Its just nice to have people at the forefront of the industry who are willing to go back, look at themselves, and make improvements. Keep up the good work.

  9. Mick says:

May I ask what a “Special Operations Contractor” is?

  10. Nad says:

He’s awesome! Thank you for your service!

  11. ODG says:

    Great Video.
