I’m not sure which impresses me more; the places I see the SIG MCX show up, or that MARSOC is the Honey Badger of SOF. They definitely have no issue doing it their way. This is by no means an indication of adoption but it’s good to see that are checking things out and have no qualms about acknowledging it.
Noticeably absent from this impressive display of weapons? The M45A1 CQBP.
you mean M4A1?
Nope, he means their .45 1911
oh, of course, my bad!
what do they have instead, Glocks?
look at the pictures….
Based on the Glock in the picture, probably those too.
Can anyone tell me the name of the handguard on the 308 in the first picture?
Think is a KAC URX 3.1 http://www.knightarmco.com/portfolio/urx-3-1-7-62/?cate_cm=military&term=rails-military&features=urx-3-1-7-62
That looks right. Thank you.
Wait, MARSOC is using what they never wanted but Recon fussed about?
You’re going to hurt some feelings, SSD.
I bet they use Fireclean, too.
Why do people constantly claim that MARSOC never wanted the M45A1 CQBP? I can assure you they raided holy hell when they weren’t on the initial fielding. It wasn’t until they wanted Glocks that they didn’t want it. In regards to the latter, they tried to get the MC to buy them Glocks and were laughed out of the room. Good to see the MCX in their hands, even though it is just a T&E piece.
What is that tan looking thing above the Sig in the second picture?
FN40GL-S. Grenade launcher.
It’s in US service, it’s the MK13 grenade launcher module of the SCAR.
Wonder which Leupold RX rangefinder that is? Guessing the 1200i?
I really wish manufacturers would get away from the stock M16 grip and go towards something more ergonomic. Doesn’t make any sense when there’s so many other choices/variations available and have been for years.
My feeling exactly but FN already has the molds for the A2 grip so it was probably the most economical.
I spoke with a manufacturer about this and that’s exactly the reason, so many just ship issue grips. They are cheap and there are so many options out there that it’s just easier to put a cheap grip on the rifle and let the customer choose what he wants.
Just like plastic Glock sights.
Great photos SSD!
I know, such quality
The SEALs used to be the honey badgers with the stoners, then the sig 226 and M60E3s while everyone else had moved on the 240. Then pushing the Mk. 46 and 48 while others were just using the 240 and 249 with one or two things modified. I wonder if the SEALS are becoming more main stream because the top guys at SOCOM and JSOC have been SEALs so they agree with everyone else more… the different approaches are always good to keep people open minded on things.
Last year at MDM you could see the M45A1 everywhere! In the holsters of the MPs who made their way to the show……..
It was still in those holster this year. The MPs were more MARSOC than MARSOC.
And I’m over here with my decades old Beretta like…..meh
I see an AI butt pad in that last photo…what does the rest of that rifle look like.
MK13 Mod 7?
