This is the Colt Competition Pistol. It’s a 1911 which features a blued carbon steel receiver and slide, and a 5″ barrel. The sights consist of a fiber optic front and adjustable Novak rear sights. The most defining feature of the new Competition Pistol is the custom blue Colt logo G10 grips. The Competition Pistol is available in .45 ACP and 9mm Luger chamberings, with capacities of 8 and 9-rounds, respectively.

Colt 1911, close to $700 street price with the features I want to have fun with at the range? I’m getting one! Im not sure what the negativity is about. I’m glad to see Colt putting out a quality product that most people can afford. Maybe not for the gun snobs, but I bet they sell a ton of them to average hard working Americans. Seems like a good business plan to me.
