SHOT Show – Magpul’s Bag, Claymore, Happy

There was a hidden gem in the Magpul booth. The Happy Claymore Bag is the result of the CORE team attempting to make a better bag for the M18A1 Claymore Mine. I don’t know what I like more, the smiley face at the front of the bag, the instructions and illustrations, or the actual functionality itself.

The bag opens up to expose a large sheet, similar to a rope bag which includes the instructions. This also makes it a good choice for an SSE bag. Open it up, place it on a flat surface, throw items of interest on the sheet, grab the four corners and all the loot slides into the bag. Of course, as you can see, the Happy Claymore Bag has lots of other uses as well.

Coming soonish from www.magpul.com.

April fools came early this year! Would love to see this come to market just for the humor alone.

    • Gary says:

      Unfortunately, they’re being serious.

How the market will actually perceive this ‘product’ will be interesting to see when it finally hits the shelves.

      • Tim says:

Gary, have you had your sense of humor surgically removed or what? Seems a little harsh to put quotes around “product” when it’s literally a bag. The functionality is there. A little humor doesn’t magically make it any less able to carry shit.

        • Gary says:

I’m good Tim, thanks for you concern.
It’s a product Tim, whether you see it like that or not. If Eric finds my comment innapropriate I’m sure he’ll remove it…it’s a dictatorship and he’s in charge after all.

Get over it and can on.

    • SSD says:

      It is currently in production.

  2. bulldog76 says:

    ill take 10 !

  3. Thomas 67 says:

I think the “Do not remove this label” notice should be in a larger font. And underlined. And on a label.

  4. DAN III says:

MAGPUL abandoned their “Made in USA” sales pitch with the introduction of their “Made in (Communist) Vietnam” Core gloves. Seems the more successful an American company becomes the more they abandon their principle pf employing American workers. Then, companies like MAGPUL, become ever more greedy and import product made by slave labor for consumption by their beloved and ignorant fellow, unemployed, Americans to buy at outrageously inflated prices.

    • DAN III says:

A “Claymore” bag by MAGPUL. How ironic. Claymore mines that sent many NVA to meet their maker. Now an American company makes cutesy with reference to a device with a bag, most likely made in Vietnam. Same as their line of gloves.

Seems to me the referenced happiness by MAGPUL is that the joke is on Americans.

      Goodbye MAGPUL.

      • Lip gam says:

I read a while back that Magpul employs over 200 people here in the US. How many do you employ as you post from your Chinese made computer?

  5. Ed says:

The label is missing this instruction:

Do not taunt the Happy Claymore Bag.

  6. Logan says:

Yeah. I really hope this bag is Made in USA, so I can buy 100 in good conscience. This thing is so violently cute.

  7. JKifer says:

I want the SSE/foraging sheet. Any word on that being sold as standalone? and if its water proof/resistant?

    • SSD says:

It’s connected to the mouth of the bag. You grab the corners and it all funnels into the bag, like a rope bag. It’s not waterproof.
