About mid last year, we wrote about Hill & Mac Gunworks’ planned modern interpretation of the StG 44, the HMG Sturmgewehr. For those eager to know about the progress of the HMG Sturmgewehr, we’re happy to reveal that at this year’s SHOT Show, H&M had several completed models available at their booth. Seen above is the STG-N model, which features a long stroke piston action, a 16.1″ barrel length, and fixed front and rear adjustable sights. Like the original, the HMG Sturmgewehr is made of stamped metal and wood furniture; it’s expectedly hefty (11 lbs., 10 oz. unloaded), but feels extremely solid. Plus, as originally promised by H&M, multiple calibers will be offered for the rifle:
H&M will also be offering the HMG Sturmgewehr in a pistol and SBR configuration. Look forward to the release of the HMG Sturmgewehr later this year.

This is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen posted from this year’s Show.
That is really neat! I wonder what magazines the 7.62 X 39 version will use. Wasn’t too sure based on site info.
STANAG 7.62×39 mags, the kind folks use with ARs in 7.62. Check out Forgotten weapons’ vids on the rifle.
I realized after posting you probably gathered that already, so I looked up a brand, c-products makes a 7.62×39 mag for the ar-15. that would be the kind it would use, presumably. The video says they all share a magwell, that of the ar-15. I hope that was helpful.
This is a “OMG take my money” moment. I went nuts. I hope that they will make an original style mag available in all the calibers. I know it’s petty, but I HATE the looks of 7.62×39 ar mags. After what InRange had to say I would really like it in 7.62×39. If I’m going to be stuck with the Banana Mags, then, I’ll likely go 300BLK. This is awesome. Thank you HMG for bringing us this to enjoy.
