I’m sorry, I’ve worn Suunto’s my entire career, but I refuse to buy from them ever again. My Core All Black runs slow, and looses a second a day. It was within warranty, and they refused to do anything about it, because in their words, “One second isn’t that bad…” Yeah, for the rest of the world, that isn’t, but when your coms require time sync, seconds means death.

and customer service means everything, they should have at least replaced the device.

Not sure about the Core but Suunto dive computers time variance is +/- 25 seconds per month. I happen to be a level 2 (pretty much everything) authorized service tech for Dive and a level 1 (batteries, bands, and bezels) for sports watches. I’m not sure who told you that but they were wrong. I have had 1 dive computer in 3 years do that and I fixed it under warranty. Suunto is very liberal in their warranty field. I have no problems with warranty work getting approved even OUT of warranty if it is “warranted”.

That said, read the actual warranty in the manual and make sure it is covered (generally 2 years for everything under the hood). With a copy of your receipt, fill out an online service request on Suunto.com (under support tab, when done you’ll get a shipping label emailed to you that goes to Ogden, UT) follow instructions from there.

If it isn’t under warranty, they will prompt you to repair it, most likely a new computer module. Probably under $100. You can choose not to proceed at that point.
