This thing has some promise…almost anything is better than using a cargo pocket to hold loose shells. I like the upside down carry option the best.

If they work and are available in the different colors shown, or others, it could be a neat way of differentiating between slugs, buck, less-lethal and breaching rounds. Wonder if they’d squeeze into a Ten-Speed AR mag pouch.

I would bet money they’d fit in that BFG Tenspeed. If for some reason they didn’t fit in the 5.56 version, they’d surely fit in one of the 7.62×51/308 versions with room to spare.

So at this point in history, why don’t most shotguns use a detachable box magazine anyway..? Tradition? Lack of innovation due to the limited actual usefulness of shotguns?

    • James says:

Couple of reasons spring easily to mind:
1.High capacity shotgun mags are huge! Lower capacity means you have to continuously top-off the shotgun, which is hard to do with magfed guns.
      2. Semi auto guns tend to be unreliable with specialty ammo and magfed pumpguns are bulky compared to tube fed.mostly secondary weapons now anyway.

    • Ben says:

The main reason is cartridge design. The rim at the base of the cartridge is larger than the diameter of the rest of the casing, which causes problems for stacking in a box mag. You don’t see many box mag firearms in revolver calibers for the same reason. Furthermore, the relatively flimsy plastic hull on many shotgun shells is strong lengthwise but not cross-section, so they deform under tension from the feed lips and mag spring and have all manner of feeding issues as a result.

Wonder if I could get them in a TACO pouch?
