With the demise of Harris Publications last week, a lot of brands are finding that they have some advertising funds to reprogram.
Some have already come to SSD, realizing that they can secure up to a year’s worth of prime, focused advertsing at less than the cost of a single fullpage print ad.

The money gets you so much more at SSD. I actively avoid magazine advertisements, especially “articles” that are actually paid advertisements. I check SSD multiple times a day as do my friends, industry contacts, mil/LEO contacts, etc. I read for the fantastic “can’t be bought” legitimate coverage that I find here. I buy products discussed here (those Covert Threads Jungle Socks from last week are great, BTW) and I regularly scan the advertiser links to see if they have anything new on their home page and of course for new faces. If I had a company in the firearms/outdoors/tactical industry the *first* place I’d advertise is Soldier Systems Daily. Thanks again for all the great content; I’m really thankful for such a great knowledge resource without a subscription fee.
It is indeed a good return on investment with SSD! I have bought items specifically because of the information on SSD. Plus with the industry contacts, you guys sometimes are ahead of the curve, then I’m anticipating the release, which is like Christmas.
It is definitely a wise decision on their part.
How much cost advertise your magazine?
I give you special price GI.
nailed it
Nice! I hit up SSD at least once in the morning and once in the evenings…and since there’s already a lot of industry folks who chime in here, this should be a no-brainer.
Sponsored posts/infomercials are the future.
Tactical Distributors has been advertising for years on SSD! If you are looking for great ROI and Value look no further. Unlike print you can clearly see the ROI every month. Over the years SSD has continued to deliver! Keep up the good work Eric!
Two of my favorite places where I generally look first, and subsequently, look last for gear are TD and SKD. Learned about both those places from the unobtrusive ad column that strides the right side of the main page. One of the few times I’m actually appreciative of ads.
I’ve lost count the number of gear sites asking post-purchase “Where did you hear about us” and the answer put forward was Soldier Systems Daily.
