Yes 70d laminate. With a tensile strength of 460 lbf/in.

Lightweight is nice I guess, but there are a plethora of better solutions on the market, like the Crye Airlite, JPC, or the BFG Plateminus
Why are they better?
Cheaper, more readily available, both of those companies I mentioned used well established, industry leading laminate materials.
You can’t really use attachment slots or molle as measures of utility because basically anyone who knows anything about modular gear should be able to come up with a solution to any deficiencies they have with a plate carrier by using commercial pouches, ie radios, hydration, whatever.
The material they use has been around much longer than anyone else’s laminates.
Waaaay beyond my needs or indeed wants, but with that little material and with it all being clearly very hydrophobic, no doubt this suit certain people’s requirements to a T.
I don’t tend to find anything other than 500D does well against abrasion, but I don’t think I’ve seen this exact material in person either. All things considered, seems like a bit more practical option than the S&S as far as configuration goes while still staying super light and probably being even more low profile.
Think modern sail cloth.
