Morgan Advanced Materials, a world leader in the application of advanced composite armour technology, is delighted to announce the launch of the discreet, ultra-lightweight, buoyant, high performance covert ballistic insert, the ‘LASA LWB Covert’. Designed to fit under standard clothing, the LASA LWB Covert is ideal for military and law enforcement operations where the wearer needs to blend in with their surroundings.
Featuring a specialist discreet design and undetectable from metal detectors, the LASA LWB Covert is shaped to conform to the user’s body shape, with a thickness of just 13mm and edges tapering to 6mm for enhanced subtlety. Once in place, when used in conjunction with approved soft armour, it protects the wearer from special threats that include both the 5.56 x 45mm 55gr ball (M193) and 7.62 x 39mm 123gr PS ball (mild steel core) ammunition. Utilising a shooter’s cut; the LASA LWB Covert weighs just 686g with an aerial weight of 11.9 kg/m2.

The LASA LWB Covert is the latest product in Morgan’s Lightweight Armoured Soldier Architecture (LASA) portfolio, covering ultra-lightweight ballistic inserts, ballistic shields and hybrid composite helmets. The LASA portfolio includes a modular suite of ballistic inserts providing multi-hit protection against threats exceeding NIJ Levels III and IV and solutions tailored towards defeating special threats including the BZ and SS109 round at the lowest weight.

Theyre based in the UK. They’ve been trying to get this armour ready for the last 6 years at least as far as I know. The brit army has been pushing for it to replace the current plates which are extremely heavy.
