Kickstarter – TAPS

TAPS is a pretty cool idea. It’s is a touchscreen sticker for your handwear, but it incorporates a unique fingerprint for touch ID. TAPS are formulated to stick and stay on almost any surface and guaranteed to work on all touchscreen devices. It’s a simple idea, but offers interesting applications for those who wear gloves all of the time.

I am going to be very skeptical that these things will stick to and stay on a pair of gloves in a tactical environment for any length of time. I am willing to be proven wrong but I just don’t see it happening.

I agree, I am too skeptical about the performance of these in wet and or dusty environments. For the price however, may seem worth a try.

it’s not like you guys are astronauts in space that will die when you remove your gloves…

Not that simple of an answer. Sometimes you just need quick access to your device. Think beyond just cell phone use. A lot of people use touchscreens in the field which is not limited to just phones, they have tablets, monitors, etc. Donning your gloves on and off everytime is an annoyance.

This is why I don’t buy gloves that aren’t touch compatible anymore.

CBRN gloves need these. Now that’s a group who is up there with astronauts in terms of deadliness.

(fairly thin suede gloves from the hardware store are touch compatible, don’t tell anyone)
