TACOMHQ – TARAC Optical Accessory

This year TACOMHQ is introducing the TARAC an optical accessory that adds 1.0 MOA to 120+ MILs to any optic for additional range (with additional “zeroes”) and automatically compensates for bullet drop for you.

Todd Hodnet Approved, the TARAC is military purchased and tested, and is available in the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie TARAC.


The Alpha TARAC is a 500 yrd 1.25” lens pop-up for ARs to immediately switch from CQB (close quarter battles) to 500 yrds in secs.

The Bravo TARAC is 2.25″ lens pop-up designed for ARs and scopes. Set your Bravo TARAC as 500 yrd pop-up for ARs, or set your Bravo to boost your scope’s total operating range by adding up to 30.0 MOA. (Adaptable for either application in secs.)


The Charlie TARAC is long range 10 to 120+ MILs scope boosting accessory that can add 10’s of MILs of additional range instantly with an accessory that can fit in your pocket. With the Charlie there is NO distortion, light loss, or chromatic aberration. There’s no need for special scope mounts, adjustable height rings, slanted picatinny rails, or change in cheek position. Nothing.

    Im still confused as to how this works. Does this have a lense and with stadia lines or something?

      Seems it works by refraction just as when you view something underwater from above the surface. When bow fishing you have to compensate for the refraction because the fish isn’t exactly where it appears to be. This device makes the target appear to be higher than it actually is.

        From the description (and my experience with optical micrometers), I think you’re right. We use optical mics at work and they translate the line of sight parallel to itself – either right-left or up-down depending on how it’s oriented. It looks like this device doesn’t translate the image, but just changes the angle of the line of sight by the specified amount. The effect is the same as pointing your red dot or scope downwards relative to the bore (or just dialing in the elevation).

    This is a neat concept – but would have to be specific to barrel length and bullet weight, unless it is adjustable, which it doesn’t seem to be.

      Which isn’t a problem for, let’s say, an Army, that well, uses a set barrel length and a bullet.

        True, it would be great for line units with primarily non magnified optics. Would have to have separate units for M4s vs 16s, different barrel lengths of SAWs, etc.

    • Not yet, which is why we custom build each TARAC unit to your exact ballistic specification. Great point though

    This is at least a very clever product if not functional. It’s nearly one of those “why didn’t I think of that” things, pending to see if the market actually demands them.

    That probably won’t be very cheap, but why not just get an Eotech “-2” or “-4” as in (E)/XPS 3-2 or 2-2 reticle and not add any more complexity? Or a different reticle? If you already have a ton of “-0” models why not just move away from the platform and get a different optic all together (that doesn’t have various zero shifts)?
